Unfortunately, we only took one medal today at Whistler, which was in the Nordic Combined event. Norway, Germany, and the Russian Federation took 3, 2, and 2 medals respectively. Germany is right behind us now with 23 total medals to our 26. With five more days left in Vancouver, anything can happen. Team Canada may go on a streak and overtake all the countries. With over 30 medal events left, it’s still anyone’s game!
Nordic Combined – Team 4×5 km – 4×5 km Relay
It was the Austrians who took the gold with a final time of 49:31.6. The Americans were right behind them with only a difference of 5.2. The four man team proudly takes home the silver medal. For Johnny Spillane, this would be his second silver medal here at the Winter Games. Our closest competitor, team Germany, took the bronze medal with a difference of 19.5.
