Speed Skating Men's Pursuit
The U.S. team ensured their position as total medal leader today. They took in two medals, one in bobsleigh and another in speed skating. With a total of 36 medals and only two medal events left tomorrow, we’re guaranteed the spot. Germany and Canada are close behind us with 29 and 25 total medals respectively.

Speed Skating – Men’s Team Pursuit Finals

It was an extremely close battle between the U.S. and Canada for this gold medal. Unfortunately, the Canadians squeezed out the gold by a couple tenths of a second.
Brian Hansen, Chad Hedrick, and Jonathan Kuck took the silver and the Netherlands took the bronze medal.

Bobsleigh – Four-Man Heat 4

Steven Holcomb, Steve Mesler, Curtis Tomasevicz and Justin Olsen take the gold with a time of 3:24.46. It was the first we won the gold medal since the 1948 Olympic games. They beat team Germany and Canada as they took the silver and bronze medals respectively.
