The rain has been hammering the Northeast region, causing massive flooding and trees to fall. Parts of the Mid-Atlantic, New York and New England could see more than 3 inches of rain through Monday, with local amounts exceeding 5 inches. The melting snow from past storms are compounding the flood issues.
Average wind speeds over the Northeast region have been between 40 – 60 mph. JFK Airport in the New York City area is the big winner with a gusts up to 74 mph. Overnight and Sunday over eastern New York and northern New England, heavy rain could change to heavy wet snow, especially above 1000 to 1500 feet.
