Governor Paterson’s press secretary, Marissa Shorenstein, abruptly quit today amid the scandal in Albany. She would be another top member of Paterson’s administrative team to resign, since the scandal began. Ms. Shorenstein leaves a $154,000 a year job and has already spoken with investigators for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
“Due to the circumstances that have led to my unwitting involvement in recent news stories, I can no longer do my job effectively,” Shorenstein said in a statement. It is still uncertain as to whether or not he will last until his terms ends at the end of the year. The governor has already called off his run for re-election.
