Today, Duke defeated Butler in the NCAA championship match. Butler had a great run, being the number five seed and blowing through all the other teams. The number one seed just barely beat the Bulldogs 61 – 59.

Kyle Singler was Duke’s secret weapon for the night. The college basketball star made 19 points tonight and had 9 rebounds. Gordon Hayward was the Bulldog’s weapon, but unfortunately he couldn’t help enough. He had 12 points and 8 rebounds for the night.

It was a close game at every half, with Duke scoring an extra point in each half. Duke scored 33 versus Butler’s 32 in the first half. In the second half, Duke held their lead scoring 28 versus Butler’s 27. Better luck next year Butler.
