
At around 6pm today, the USGS reported a 6.3 magnitude quake in Spain. The center of the quake struck just 15 miles south east of the city of Granada. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties on Spanish media.
The city of Granada has a population of over 250,000 and located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of three rivers, Beiro, Darro and Genil. At an elevation of 738 metres above sea level yet only one hour from the Mediterranean coast.
