As an IT guy, I can appreciate the occasional deal on computer parts. So whenever I find a nice deal I like to share it with friends. If you’re looking build yourself a nice new computer, take a long look at the Intel Core i7 chips. I just bought one at Micro Center because they are selling them for under $200.

If you’re already a deal hunter like me, you probably know about this deal already. Moreover, you probably got the earlier deal on the i7-920 model for $170 at Micro Center. Regardless, these socket 1366 chips are currently the best out there for personal computer builds.

I’m still searching for a nice deal on a 1366 socket motherboard and triple channel RAM, to complement my new processor. If you’re on more of a budget, you may want to go either with the AMD Phenom II Deneb or Intel Core i5. If I were you, I would lean more towards the i5, according to many benchmarks, Intel’s chips have been blowing away AMD’s quad cores.
