Yesterday, the USGS reported a 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan waters. Luckily, the center of the quake was about 170 miles southeast of T’ai-Tung, Taiwan. The quake was powerful enough to shake buildings in Taipei.
Currently, there were no reported injuries due to the quake. There were local warnings of possible tidal surges, but nothing had manifested. The Phillipines were worried as well, due to their proximity, but they too suffered no damages.
