Mayor Michael Bloomberg
Today, Mayor Bloomberg plans to introduce New York City’s budget plan for the next fiscal year. Previously, the Mayor was considering slashing police officers and teachers to close the budget gap. However, due to recent events involving terrorism plots, specifically the times square bomb, the plans will probably change.

Last night, Bloomberg’s spokesman Stu Loeser, said that the new plan has been adjusted to keep as many police officers as possible. Unfortunately, our city’s teachers are still on the chopping block. Sources say that number of teachers to be laid off could be between 6,400 and 6,700. Hopefully, our opposition in Albany will realize that our city needs more funding and finally decide to budget money to help our city survive this economic crisis.
