Hercules C-130
Yesterday, a C-130 transport plane crashed in Morocco with 78 people confirmed dead. Only 2 people survived the crash, but they’re still in critical condition. Authorities are still searching through the body parts to confirm passenger identities and logistics. The plane was transporting troops either to or from Laayoune and Dakhla. Moroccan authorities say that the poor weather conditions were to blame for the crash, but are still investigating the cause. Considered Morocco’s worst military disaster in years, Information Minister Khalid Naciri said searches are on to find all the bodies.

The Hercules C-130 was originally designed by Lockheed Martin approximately 50 years ago. Its primary purpose was for troops, medical evacuation, and cargo transport. It’s also capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings. Today over 40 models and variations of the Hercules, serve with more than 60 nations. The Hercules aircraft family is the longest continuous production run of any military plane in history.
