The new BioLite CampStove is a great Christmas gift for friends and family who love the outdoors. The green product uses renewable resources to cook your food and charge your iPhone at the same time. It folds down to the size of a water bottle so it’s easy to carry as well.
When people think about being green they usually go straight to solar panels, wind farms, and bio-fuels. This redesigned camp stove allows you to use available twigs to start the fire, so you don’t have to buy or carry any fuel. Since twigs are a renewable resource, your carbon footprint is also reduced.
So how does it charge your iPhone as well? Basically, when you start the fire it uses a Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) to produce electricity. This generator then produces power for a fan and USB port. The port is obviously for your iPhone, but the fan is to make the fire hotter to produce more electricity.
The new age camp fire is retailing for $129, it comes with a firelighter and USB cord. For all the tech specs, head to the BioLite website for more information.
Note: They recommend ordering before the December 14th to receive it in time for Christmas.
