All the models who pose naked for him do so voluntarily, and as a reward they receive a limited edition photo. Last September, while the station was covering a fashion show by the late British designer Alexander McQueen, they televised footage of a model’s naked breast. I believe there should be some debate over “The Hurt Locker” winning best movie, but who am I to decide? This years Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, took place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. I thought that Avatar should have beaten everyone hands down, but the voters are mainly other actors and people invited to be voters by the AMPAS ( Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ). Shutter Island – Weekend Hit

Shutter IslandThe Martin Scorsese film, Shutter Island, took in a whopping $40 million this weekend. This number tops both opening movie records for the director as well as lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Scorsese’s best was around $27 million, set by the film The Departed, which coincidentally starred DiCaprio as well. DiCaprio’s previous best was just over $30 million, set by the film Catch Me If You Can, which was directed by Steven Spielberg. (more…)

Valentine’s Day

Although today is Valentine’s Day, I was actually referring to the new movie released this past Friday. This love story, directed by Gary Marshall has over 15 major actors and actresses packed into one two hour movie. On IMDB, this movie is currently 5.7 out of 10 and RottenTomatoes.com has it as a 3.8 out of 10. This movie may not have great reviews so far, but it’s expected to exceed $50 million based off of opening day estimates. (more…)
