An article on TechCrunch revealed that Facebook users recently encountered a bug that allowed them to see their friends private chat messages. When the social networking site became aware of the issue, they immediately disabled all it’s instant-messaging services. The vulnerability only existed “for a limited amount of time,” the company said. (more…)

Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

Yesterday, Google announced that it has cancelled its Nexus One smartphone for use on Verizon’s CDMA network. Google updated its official Nexus One blog to recommend users instead pre-order the new Droid Incredible from HTC, set to be released on April 29th. Previously, users who went to the official Nexus One site seeking a Verizon-compatible handset were told the device was “coming soon.” (more…)

Honda Introduces New U3-X

On Tuesday in here in New York, Honda introduced to us the prototype of it’s new “personal mobility” device. The Honda U3-X is a compact one-wheeled device which features a folding seat and retractable footrests. Today is the last day you can catch a glimpse of the device, here at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. A second demonstration will be held April 13-15, at the 2010 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress in Detroit, Michigan. (more…)

Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro at Osaka University in Japan, is famous for creating a lifelike robot replica of himself. His latest female humanoid robot, the Geminoid F, can now mimic human facial expressions. The developers said they expect the robot will eventually be used in real-life situations. (more…)

Sprint’s 4G Android Phone

Yesterday, Sprint showed off it’s new phone at the CTIA wireless conference in Las Vegas. Working with Taiwanese phone maker, HTC Corporation, they have created a 3G/4G handset running off the new Google Android 2.1 operating system. As I was checking the search rankings of the site today, I found that the Google Webmasters site defaults to Spanish. For the life of me, I can’t understand why… This is not breaking news or anything, I just thought it was funny and interesting. Even if I do a Google search on “google webmasters”, it will send me to the link in Spanish. Have fun trying it out. (more…)

iPad Pre-Order Now Available

As promised last week, Apple made it’s new iPad available for pre-order at 8:30am EST today. Once you’ve completed your pre-order, the iPad will be available for pickup or delivered free on April 3rd. Unfortunately, if you wanted the model with the optional 3G radio, you’re going to wait until the end of April for your new toy to be shipped. (more…)

According to sources, Finnish phone maker Nokia, has recently filed patent applications here in the US. The patent is not for a new phone, but for a device that can pretty much power any piece of mobile technology.
