HMAS Success
In Australia, women have been allowed to serve aboard naval ships since 1983. Coastline After seeing the Steve Irwin Zoo, I headed over to Cairns. Arriving there felt like I just landed in Hawaii. The city is small and resembles a surfer town, but with an unusable beach. The reason the beach is unusable is because of the “Salties” (salt water alligators). They do have a beautiful water pool area where many tourists and locals flock to. (more…)

Australia Tourist Info – Brisbane

Koala Bear After my tour of Sydney, I flew over to Brisbane to visit the Steve Irwin Zoo. I found Brisbane to be very hilly and tough to walk, but it’s only because I don’t hit the gym nearly as often as I should. The hotel I chose to stay at was the Holiday Inn right above Roma St. Station. The hotel was 3 star, which I secured through Priceline for about $175 a night. I chose this station for it’s close price and close proximity to a rail station. (more…)

Sydney Sunrise Visiting Sydney, Australia is an experience everyone should have. The temperature in Sydney is very similar to San Francisco and I find the terrain is strangely similar as well. I stayed at the Marriott Hotel overlooking Hyde Park. I’ve attached a picture of the sunrise from my room. My trip took place in September of 2009 and I stayed in Australia for 2 weeks moving from Sydney to Brisbane to Cairns and back to Sydney. (more…)
