Huge Earthquake Hits California

California Earthquake
At 3:40pm yesterday, a powerful earthquake was recorded near Mexicali, California. The 7.2 magnitude quake was followed by a series of aftershocks between 3.0 to 5.0 magnitudes. So far there has only been one reported death, but there are scores of people who are trapped amongst the rubble of their homes. (more…)

Toyota Prius Runs Wild In San Diego

Earlier today, a motorist cruising down a highway in San Diego was forced to make an emergency 911 call to the police. He was driving his Toyota Prius, then out of nowhere his gas pedal got stuck, leaving his vehicle stuck at speeds more than 90 miles per hour. Police quickly responded and coached the driver on how to bring his car to a halt. (more…)

The Oscars
I believe there should be some debate over “The Hurt Locker” winning best movie, but who am I to decide? This years Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, took place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. I thought that Avatar should have beaten everyone hands down, but the voters are mainly other actors and people invited to be voters by the AMPAS ( Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ). Due to the new Green revolution, we are aware of the fact that we can no longer burn fossil fuels at the rate we are now. The question is how do we burn less fossil fuel while the demand for energy increases everyday. One way to do that is by using technology that is more efficient than current methods. Plane Crash Kills 3 In California

Early this morning, a plane taking off from the Palo Alto Airport crashed into a residential neighborhood. The small plane supposedly flew through thick fog and accidentally clipped electrical power lines coming off of a 90 foot tower. Luckily, no one on the ground was hurt, but all three people inside the plane died. The destruction did not end with the broken homes… (more…)
