Cisco Gets EU Approval

Yesterday, Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) was given European approval to move ahead with the acquisition of TANDBERG. The antitrust division of the DOJ (Department of Justice) also announced they will not challenge the acquisition of the video conferencing company. Although the transaction remains subject to ongoing regulatory review in Brazil, the companies anticipate completion of the deal in the coming weeks. (more…)

As a measure to raise money, President Obama passed a new law designed to boost the dwindling numbers of foreign tourists. He believes that by charging a $10 fee on top of the ESTA (Electronic Scheme for Travel Authorization) application will somehow raise our declining tourism numbers. Latvia Hacked Into Chaos

Latvia, a small country on the western border of Russia has been thrown into chaos by hackers. This group call themselves the People’s Army of the Fourth Awakening and claim to have downloaded more than 7.5 million government documents. These hackers are threatening to expose the incomes of tax officials using the tax returns they stole. (more…)

Belgian Chocolate Fountain Belgium is a beautiful place to visit. Every time you think of the country, you can’t help to think of two things, chocolate and waffles. Brussels is also known as the supposed capitol of the EU (European Union), but in actuality they have no official capitol. I’ve visited the country twice already, but both visits were only a day. The country is fairly small and I usually stop in Brussels on my way down to Paris from Amsterdam. (more…)
