Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

Yesterday, Google announced that it has cancelled its Nexus One smartphone for use on Verizon’s CDMA network. Google updated its official Nexus One blog to recommend users instead pre-order the new Droid Incredible from HTC, set to be released on April 29th. Previously, users who went to the official Nexus One site seeking a Verizon-compatible handset were told the device was “coming soon.” (more…)

Google Inc. is looking to expand it’s global sales by hiring 500 new employees. According to a Google spokesperson, the staff increases are being driven by a desire to keep the company to moving forward in a rapidly changing digital media marketplace. Chief executive Eric Schmidt had said during company results in October that Google would be stepping up recruitment, particularly in advertising from sales to mobile search. (more…)

Sprint’s 4G Android Phone

Yesterday, Sprint showed off it’s new phone at the CTIA wireless conference in Las Vegas. Working with Taiwanese phone maker, HTC Corporation, they have created a 3G/4G handset running off the new Google Android 2.1 operating system. Google Running to Hong Kong

Google Inc. (GOOG) has announced that it will pull out of mainland China. They will circumvent the censorship of their content by moving their search engine operations to Hong Kong, where their content is already unfiltered. This decision is the result of the company’s constant issues with content censorship and compounded when they were the target of hackers from China’s universities. (more…)

As I was checking the search rankings of the site today, I found that the Google Webmasters site defaults to Spanish. For the life of me, I can’t understand why… This is not breaking news or anything, I just thought it was funny and interesting. Even if I do a Google search on “google webmasters”, it will send me to the link in Spanish. Have fun trying it out. (more…)

Google Sued Over Buzz

Google Inc. According to an article in the San Francisco Chronicle, a Florida woman named Eva Hibnick had her lawyers file a lawsuit against Google on Wednesday. The law firm Audet & Partners LLP in San Francisco declined to comment. The suit alleges Google Inc. broke the law when its controversial Google Buzz service shared personal data without the consent of users. (more…)

Google Inc. When Google Buzz was introduced last week, there outcries from everyone. Some complaining about security risks while others complained about building another supposed Orkut. Google Founders Reap Huge Benefits

Google Inc. Google Inc. (GOOG) founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, are scheduled to sell approximately 10 million shares over the next 5 years. This planned move will slowly decrease the voting rights from about 59% until it reaches 48%. At the end of the term, their combined amount of shares will be close to 47.7 million. The reason for the move is to diversify the voting rights and began on November 30th, 2009. (more…)
