HP Buys Palm For $1.2 Billion

Earlier today, HP (NYSE: HPQ) announced that it will purchase Palm, Inc. (NASDAQ: PALM) for $1.2 billion. Palm, a provider of smartphones powered by the Palm WebOS mobile operating system, closed at $4.63 today. However, the stock price has jumped up well over 25% in after hours trading, pushing the stock price to almost $6 a share. (more…)

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Snapfish announced it will open its API to allow creative individuals and businesses to be part of its publishing service. “Snapfish Publisher” will serve as a platform for individuals and companies to market and sell their creative designs, merchandise and services. Hewlett Packard Declares Dividend

Hewlett Packard Company (HPQ) declared a dividend early yesterday. The board of directors approved a cash dividend of 8 cents per share on the company’s common stock. Only stockholder’s on record by close of business on March 17, 2010, will be eligible for the payout. The dividend is scheduled to be paid out on April 7, 2010. HP closed at $47.79 a share, down 3.36%, but up in after hours trading.
