Today, Mayor Bloomberg plans to introduce New York City’s budget plan for the next fiscal year. Previously, the Mayor was considering slashing police officers and teachers to close the budget gap. However, due to recent events involving terrorism plots, specifically the times square bomb, the plans will probably change. (more…)
A New York Police officer was shot a few hours ago in the Melrose section of the Bronx. When the officer responded to the call at the housing project, somehow gunfire erupted and he was shot. At least one bullet hit his vest, a couple others landed somewhere near his lower stomach and groin area. Luckily, the officer will survive the shooting and is currently undergoing surgery at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. (more…)
The special report issued by Forbes each year, “The World’s Billionaires,” was released earlier today. It shocked me to see that for the first time in over 15 years, an American was not in the number one spot. Carlos Slim Helu, jumped from third place last year to first this year, overtaking Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. (more…)
