Oracle Acquires Phase Forward

Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ: ORCL) announced today that it has agreed to acquire Phase Forward (NASDAQ: PFWD), a leading provider of applications for life sciences companies and healthcare providers. The deal will take place through a cash merger for $17.00 per share, valued at almost $700 million. Deployed in over 10,000 clinical trials, Phase Forward’s software has been used successfully by hundreds of customers to accelerate innovation in drug development and patient care delivery. (more…)

Oracle Acquires AmberPoint

oracle_amberpoint After recently being approved by the EU (European Union) to continue with it’s Sun Microsystems deal, Oracle decides to buy another company. This time it’s a company based out of Oakland, California called AmberPoint Inc., a leader in SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) Management. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Oracle Buys Sun Microsystems

oracle_sun Since early 2005, Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) has been voraciously absorbing companies into their own corporation. According to the current numbers on the Oracle website, the number is pushing close to 60 corporations. One of the most recent and notable acquisitions was that of Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: JAVA). The merger was announced on April 20th, 2009 yet it it still pending approval of the Sun stockholders. (more…)
