Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

Yesterday, Google announced that it has cancelled its Nexus One smartphone for use on Verizon’s CDMA network. Google updated its official Nexus One blog to recommend users instead pre-order the new Droid Incredible from HTC, set to be released on April 29th. Previously, users who went to the official Nexus One site seeking a Verizon-compatible handset were told the device was “coming soon.” (more…)

Verizon Tries Dual Listing Stock

Earlier today, Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) announced that it will list it’s common stock on both the NASDAQ and NYSE stock exchanges. Currently, the company is only listed on the NYSE under the symbol “VZ.” Verizon has approximately 2.5 million shareholders and approximately 2.8 billion shares of common stock outstanding. (more…)

Verizon and Skype Join Forces

At the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Verizon Wireless and Skype announced the formation of their strategic relationship. Their ideal plan is to have Skype available on Verizon’s smartphones by March of this year. This move should help Verizon expand their customer base and force investments into their 3G data network. Verizon to Cut Over 10,000 Jobs

verizon Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) began a webcast at 8:30am this morning to review it’s 4Q results. The good news is that they continue to have strong cash flows and are signing on more and more wireless customers. The bad news is that they missed analyst estimates and are planning to cut over 10,000 jobs in order to bring their total employee base down to about 117,000. (more…)
